Dr. Katrin Gülden Le Maire - Advisory & Research

Katrin Gülden Le Maire is a strategic advisor and independent scientific researcher with more than 25 years experience in various European markets. She works across all industries and sectors, with special expertise in finance, tech (deep tech, green tech, fin tech), commodities and real estate. Katrin started her career in investor relations and fund marketing in London, enlargened her focus on financial communication and strategy development and execution, including fund raising in the last 18 years.

She accompanies and guides companies in varying stages of maturity, valuations and market capitalisations in market entries, expansions, fund raising and change scenarios as well in their overall strategy development and execution, using a value-add approach. She is also an Angel Investor in select European tech start ups.

Katrin has expanded her services to advise companies on the challenges within their digital/technological strategies, service and product offering. Her interest and expertise is especially in the subject of Governance. She proposes tailor made programmes and Salons that strengthen, develop and expand inhouse talent. Katrin was appointed Senior Advisor of the Policy Liaison Group on ESG in Westminster from 2022-24. As of 2024 she is an advisor to ACTIVES, an NGO created by the former French state secretary Marlène Schiappa to identify female senior leadership talent for CAC40 / SBF120 CEO posts.

Katrin conducts select scientific research, focusing on cyber ethics, democracy development and social cohesion as well as epistemology/methodology. She was a member of the board of the FIIT Institut at the Ruprecht Karls-Universität Heidelberg in Germany from 2019-24. Katrin writes, trains, teaches and publishes interdisciplinary and intersystemically across four systems (business, politics, science and religion) in German, English and French. She has an indepth comprehension of the varying systems, structures, processes, languages, expectations and cultural particularities. 

 Katrin is creative and entrepreneurial and has both co-created and created 4 subsidiaries and SME’s in 3 European countris in the last two decades.  She has lived several years in London (1995-2003), had an established advisory business in Frankfurt (2007-2017) and is based in Paris.

Katrin holds the CFA ESG Investing Certificate (CFA Institute) and a Diploma in Financial Management from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).  She completed her Doctorate in Philosophy with focus on epistemology at Middlesex University London and has an Executive Masters in Communications from Rotterdam School of Management. She is also a trained theologian. Since 2007, Katrin applies elements of the EKS® Strategie, a successful German cybernetic management theory, to her work.

Katrin has been involved in pro bono business ethics and governance initiatives and in training of leaders in think tanks and associations in the UK, France and Germany for 25 years. She is a speaker and contributor at conferences such as VivaTech, Women in Tech, Women Economic Forum, The Tech Diplomacy Forum, and further trade/professional conferences across Europe. She regularly mentors young talent.
